Year of The Hospital – Part I

I just have to put this out there before I continue. I have always been deathly afraid of hospitals. When I was younger, it seemed like people I knew went in and never came out. There my lies my phobia. I already mentioned that my first hip replacement in 2003 didn’t take and we didn’t realize this until 2009 which was the same year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I always say if it wasn’t for bad luck, I would have no luck. With my chemo and radiation completed it was now time to work on the hip revision. On April 5, 2011, I had a hip revision on my left side. We thought that would be the end of my problems. Wrong!!! I ended up in short term rehab which turned into long term rehab. Surviving Breast Cancer

Every year I religiously get a physical on my birthday, taking a day off from work to do so. Well in 2009 I went for my physical, did all my tests and awaited the results which were always good, so I wasn’t expecting the news that I was about to receive. So for four years I was pain and cane free and no one bothered to take an x-ray of my leg prior to the hip revision surgeon, who discovered that the actual problem in 2009 was that the hip surgery didn’t take and I needed a hip revision. I just recently had the revision surgery on April 6 of this year and now I need a hip replacement on the other hip. I used to be so scared to go to the emergency room, let alone having surgery. Now all I want to do is be pain and cane free once again. Has anyone ever had or knows of anyone who had hip surgery...
